I completed my Level 6 Diploma in Massage and Clinical Sports therapy in 2009, and first started massaging people with cancer in 2011 after completing a certificate in Oncology Massage. In 2015, I also became a qualified Vodder Therapist.
I worked at the Hawke's Bay Cancer Society for 7 years until 2018, when I decided to focus more on my private practice and teaching oncology massage. I have been teaching this course to degree programme students in their final year since 2015, and have now started running courses privately to bring this rewarding modality to more therapists.
This is a special interest course, using evidence based research, my experiences as both oncology massage therapist and cancer survivor, and the experiences of other cancer patients. I teach with a pragmatic approach, and include practical tips and advice, so at the end of the 2 days, you will have the confidence and knowledge to work safely with cancer patients.
